JouJou

So, the last time I spoke about JouJou she was recovering from a brain biopsy. After all the tests they concluded that she has an unidentified inflammatory disease in her brain.
So they started her on Predisolone....a steroid.
And after a couple of weeks of a very small dose, whatever was in her head, shrunk. She can see again and is full of energy, as if nothing happened.
Unfortunately she started running around with all of her energy and we had no idea that the steroids had damaged her soft tissue. And she ruptured BOTH of her Achilles tendons! She couldn't walk on her back legs.

This is a picture of her right leg. You can see the lump in the middle of the flappy tendon. That's where she tore it.

Here's her left leg. Just as ugly.

She spent a couple of weeks in soft casts with splints inside. Then she was fitted for braces.
It's the only way she can walk.
I'll get a pic of her in her tomorrow in her braces.
We are waiting for a month or so to make sure nothing in her brain returns now that she is off the steroids. And hoping that she can heal her tendons herself in the meantime.
If she cannot then she must have surgery on each leg to fuse the ankle in a standing position.
Not ideal, but it'll be better than brace for the rest of her life.
