Yes. Our life is a whirlwind.
We just got back from a 36 hour trip to Carlsbad where we celebrated Nancy's birthday. We got back this morning at 10am and are leaving again tomorrow for our stint in the desert with our new Burning Man friends.
If you don't know all that much about Burning Man, peruse the website http://www.burningman.com/
or even better, rent one of the cool documentaries on the festival.
It's our first year. And we're soooooo excited.
So we'll be unable to blog until our return on Sept. 3rd.
But my-oh-my! the pictures and videos we'll have to share!!!!!
Ok
We must continue packing.
Talk to you on Sept 3rd!!
Love
CarolandMichael
It's about what Carol and Michael are doing and thinking and planning and procrastinating and basically anything either one of them is thinking about.

ANSWER:
It was a short movie about a laser eye surgery mascot who travels to NYC in hoes of being in the "advertising week" parade - alongside Tony the Tiger and Mr Clean!
In this shot he looks for lodging at this farmhouse and the farmer sends his dog to attack the intruder. It is very funny!
The dog is our Fauxtois! And the stunt guy in the eyeball is our friend Nick. Michael couldn't be the stunt guy because he was the handler controlling the attack.
The film was entered in some film festivals and did quite well.
If you come for a visit, we can give you a private screening!

Out With The Old, In With The New
Gaia and Gordon are shedding.
They rub themselves on the sides of everything in their enclosure to get the old shim off.
And then they eat it! YUM!
But it must feel as good to them as it does when we peel off our old, dead skin after a sunburn.
Notice how beautiful and vibrant their colors become?
Meanwhile, their first set of eggs are still incubating at around 82F.
The entire incubation period is approx. 4 weeks, so we're getting close!
I just hope we can catch a photo of them at the moment they are hatching.

Ready
Here's just another reason why our little pad has become one of America's favorite vacation destinations!
It's crisp and clean, hot and ready for soakers.
And it's got a stylish new lid.
And Mike and Ione - in case you're wondering if we're making good use of this lovely gift - I am in it twice a day....at least!

Back Again!
Hello, hello dear blogger friends!
Sorry for the neglect, but I've been away. (and Michael claims he doesn't know how to work this thing!)
I was at Lark Camp for a week! It was really cool. It was held in the Woodlands Camp in the Mendicino Mountains.
It's a world music, dance, and singing camp that gives daily classes in almost anything you want to learn about.
There were hundreds of classes to take!
I took Balkan Dancing, Middle Eastern Drumming, Swing Singing, Maritime Pirate Song, Greek Dancing, Turkish Gypsy Dancing,
Civil War Song, Irish Ballad Singing, and one day of Cajun Porch Song - but I'm terrible at French, so I chose a different class.
The camp was split into three, each with a different world theme. I traveled between the camps on my mountain bike to attend my classes. They provided a shuttle service, but when you see the beautiful road I had the priviledge of riding, you'll understand why I rode. I did about 8 miles each day.
The meals were astonishing! Gourmet! So it's a good thing I was riding my bike so much!!!
Each night there were different dances. The dance hall was glowing and the musicians were fabulous.
Here's a few pics from the week.
And remember to click on the pic if you want to enlarge it.
This is the cabin where I stayed.
This the lovely little trail I took to the bathroom. :)
There's where my car lived for a week. And there's my faithful two-wheeled friend!
This is the road I rode between camps.
